Fun Stuff

Matt took me to the Immersive Van Gough exhibit last month. It's not quite what either of us expected, but we both enjoyed it. Basically, they had everyone in this big room and projected images of Van Gough's work on the walls and floor to make you feel like you were in the painting. The images would morph and shift into other paintings with music in the background. Interesting....

Peter turned 3! He was so enamored with Joseph's cookie monster cake, he wanted one just like it. Well, I couldn't bring myself to do the exact same thing, so he ended up with a blue-hippo cookie monster.

Mid-November, we went to the Houston Rock and Mineral Society's Gem Show. The kids got to do a scavenger hunt and dig for rocks and fossils. And we saw some really beautiful specimens from all the vendors.

Matt's birthday was next. He opted to keep it simple and have a mochi-cake this year.

His favorite gift came from Annie. She gave him her talking unicorn, and he has loved having it to snuggle with. ;p

Just some cute pics from Thanksgiving break... Michael had the week off, so we went to the zoo and enjoyed time with Nana and Popie and Stephen and Jenn at Mercer Botanic Gardens.

One of Peter's favorite birthday gifts was a cowboy belt and gun set. Now Annie's getting into the act.

In honor of Sarah's 12th birthday, I took her on a little mom-daughter excursion this past weekend. We took an all-day watercoloring class downtown on Thursday then spent the evening at the museum of art.

We stayed at a fancy hotel up in The Woodlands with a beautiful view of Hugh's Landing.

Friday, we took a walk, toured Old Town Spring, rented a swan paddle boat, and saw the Christmas lights on the trolley.

Saturday, we got our nails done and watched  "Encanto" in a theater before heading home. She is growing into such a beautiful, intelligent, talented, kind young woman. It was sooo much fun to have time together uninterrupted. (Thank you Matt and Nana for helping with kids at home!)
